[New] 110914 Super Junior’s Kim Heechul Day in Army Training – Special Thanksgiving (Chuseok)


When people of our traditional holiday ‘Choo-Seok’, they usually think of gathering family, traditional foods. However, for training recruits, spending Choo-Seok at KATC makes them miss thier family more and more. Approximately 120-thousands of recruits are training at KATC. How do they spend Choo-Seok, here?

At Korea Army Training Center, KATC offers an opportunity for recruits, who are spending a Korean traditional holiday away from their family, to enjoy Choo-Seok; KATC held many different exercises for recruits to participate, so that they don’t need to miss thier families so much. Also, Kim Hee-Chul, who joined KATC little late at his age of 29, spent a special and memorable Choo-Seok with other recruits. He said hello to all his fans, and additionally he said, “I’m doing well with other recruits, here. I hope all my fans behave well to their parents and family.”

[Old] 110903 Kim Hee-Chul becomes a proud ROK soldier!!


After completing his training for today, Kim Hee-Chul and his recruit-mates gathered around and reading fan-letters; Kim Hee-Chul is having a lot of fun and enjoying fan-letters.

At the shooting training, Kim Hee-Chul is cheering up his recurit-mate who scored all, 20 out of 20. Nowadays, Kim Hee-Chul seems he is enjoying his training at KATC; he felt little nervous when he joined KATC on Sept. 1, but now he feels better. He seems he is already adjusted to here!

On September 1st, Kim Hee-Chul from Super Junior joined Korean Army Training Center (aka. KATC). KATC is regularly uploading photos of him getting trained and becoming a soldier, and those photos definitely caught Super Junior fans’ attention. Although Kim Hee-Chul is little older than other people training at KATC, he is capable of doing everything alright. Kim Hee-Chul used to have fashionable hair, but he still looks fabulous with a short hair. He took a role of leader at the giving out rifles ceremony. When he entered KATC, he said, “I’m not so used to this kind of environment, but I heard a lot from Kang-In, who trained at KATC earlier, so I feel like I can do this.” After 4 weeks of training at KATC, he will be working as a public service worker for 23 months.

110913 Why did Super Junior’s Shindong hide his eyes during the 100m race?

Super Junior‘s Shindong turned quite a few heads when he showed up for the 100m race at MBC’s ‘3rd Idol Star Athletics Championships‘ in aviator shades.

Boom went up to him to at the start line to ask, “You’re going to be in a race so why are you wearing sunglasses?” Shindong meekly replied, “To hide it.”

He took off his shades for the camera to reveal two white pieces of paper stuck to his eyes. Catching on to his drift, Boom turned to the camera and apologized, “They have yet to properly heal,” in reference to his recent double eyelid surgery.

In the actual race, Shindong ran up to about 30m before dropping to the floor in a tired fit, causing much amusement amongst viewers.
